FAQ's
Will I have to give my name and pictures of myself?
Yes you will. All magazine stories have pictures with them and we can’t place a story without the relevant snaps. In sexual abuse cases we are not allowed to identify the victim unless they waive their right to anonymity. We can talk about this with you.
If I ring/email will I then be tied into doing the story?
No, our first phone call is very much an informal chat for us to discuss your options. We will always need your permission to print butwe ask that if you’re not sure after this stage, please tell us – if the time’s not right for you then we’ll understand.
How much will I be paid?
As much as we can possibly get for your story. It could be £250 but could go as high as £1500 / £2000 – it depends on the story / the pictures / the time and many other factors.
What if I don't like the story?
That will not happen with us. We will always allow you to read the story before it goes to the publication and you can check and amend any details you want. It will not go to the magazine unless you are 100% happy with it.
When will I get payment?
Payment is normally within four weeks of publication but can very rarely take a little longer
Can I choose the publication?
We will always listen to the kind of magazine or paper you would like to deal with and try to get your story published with them first. If not we’ll try others you are happy with.
Can I leave details out which might bother my friends/family?
We normally ask that we keep the story as close to life as possible but in some cases we can change childrens’ names or leave out details such as where you work.
